The XD5-40II series, a next-generation is a 4-inch (118 mm) mid-range Direct Thermal Desktop Barcode and label printing solution delivering enhanced performance,efficiency, and improved user experience, cementing BIXOLON’s position as a leading innovator in the label printing market.


Available in Direct Thermal (XD5-40IId), Thermal Transfer (XD5-40IIt) RFID (XD5-40IItR) and Healthcare (XD5-40IId-H and XD5-40IIt-H) models, which deliver high performance printing for medium-volume applications across logistics, manufacturing, retail, healthcare and more. Supporting print speeds of up to 8 ips, with an optional print resolution of up to 300 dpi and a large 512 MB SDRAM / 512 MB Flash memory, the compact clamshell printer ensures efficient, reliable operations. User convenience is central to its design, with intuitive menu buttons and an optional 2-inch LCD display simplifying setup and ongoing management.

While supporting a wide range of programming languages including SLCS, BPL-Z™, BPL-E™, and Smart Switch, the printer integrates easily into existing systems. Plus, comprehensive label design and management tools—such as Label Artist-II™, Label Artist™ Web, Label Artist™ Mobile, and XPM™ web-based device management enables flexible deployment and remote control. With additional features including a USB host port, Twin Function™ cloning and Smart Media Detection™ to ensure reduced setup time, consistent print quality, and optimised performance.
