Receipts are more than proof of purchase, they are the customer’s final touchpoint with a business. In retail, hospitality and service environments, receipt presentation can contribute to the overall customer experience. Yet businesses may encounter printing inefficiencies such as excess paper use, frequent roll changes and unnecessarily long receipt layouts. These factors can add to routine printing tasks and affect receipt presentation.
BIXOLON’s Paper Save Mode, available through the POS Utility, helps address these challenges. By adjusting margins, spacing and layout, it shortens receipts while maintaining readability. In the receipt example shown below, Level 2 reduces receipt length by up to 23%. Level 3 is available only for ASCII code receipts.
Benefits of Paper Save Mode
- Reduced Paper Usage: Shorter receipts use less paper per transaction.
- Fewer Roll Changes: Reduced receipt length can help extend usage per paper roll.
- Consistent Readability: Even with reduced length, receipts remain clear and easy to read.
- Flexible Settings: Businesses can select the Paper Save Mode level that best fits their printing needs.
